Nyatanga pulls out of , ZIFA race 15/03/2010 00:00:00 by Collet Ndiraire Time up ... , Nyatanga and , FIFA president , Sepp Blatter , RELATED , STORIES , ZIMBABWE Football Association (ZIFA) president , Wellington Nyatanga has ruled himself out of elections to be held on , March 27. Nyatanga, who is reported to have said he was seeking re-election, on , Monday appeared to drop his re-election bid. “Who said I am contesting? I have never said I am seeking re-election," said Nyatanga. Nyatanga chaired a meeting last , Saturday which took a resolution to suspend chief executive Henrietta Rushwaya. Rushwaya was suspended over the controversial trip to , Malaysia by , Monomotapa Football Club posing as the , Zimbabwe national soccer team. Nyatanga is believed to be now backing , Harare business executive , Cuthbert Dube for the top job. Dube will battle it out against former , PSL chairman Tapuwa Matangaidze, former , Premier Soccer League secretary general , Leslie Gwindi and ex-CAPS , United star Charlie Jones. Gwindi and , Matangaidze have already presented their manifestos while Jones, who has officially announced that he was contesting for the top post, is yet to do so. The ZIFA board elections have been scheduled for March 27. The new ZIFA chairman will attend the , World Cup in , South Africa in , June where there will be a FIFA congress.
